Day Hike Itinerary

Meet in Kathmandu and drive to Budhanilkantha at around 1,400 meters, near the entrance of Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. After completing park entry formalities, begin hiking through oak and pine forests with a gradual uphill climb. The trail is quiet and shaded, with occasional viewpoints overlooking the Kathmandu Valley.

After two to three hours of hiking, reach Nagi Gompa Monastery at approximately 2,300 meters. Spend time exploring the monastery area, enjoying the peaceful surroundings, and learning about its spiritual importance. The hike then continues downhill toward Kapan Monastery, following forest paths and village edges. After visiting Kapan Monastery and enjoying its wide valley views, drive back to Kathmandu, completing a rewarding day hike that blends nature, culture, and history.

Total walking time is four to five hours, suitable for hikers with basic fitness.
