Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Sole Encounters Adventures. After a brief introduction and luggage assistance, you will be transferred to your hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu's bustling tourist district filled with lively streets, cafes, and shops. Settle in, relax, and prepare for the exciting days ahead.
Today is dedicated to both cultural exploration and trip preparation. Visit iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as the Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) for panoramic views of the city, Pashupatinath Temple on the banks of the Bagmati River, and the massive Boudhanath Stupa, a center of Tibetan Buddhist culture in Nepal. Meanwhile, your passport will be submitted for the Chinese group visa, essential for entry into Tibet. In the evening, attend a comprehensive trip briefing covering route logistics, safety, riding conditions, and cultural etiquette.
Start your motorbike journey northward along the Trishuli River valley, climbing through forested hills and terraced farmland. The road becomes increasingly rugged and narrow as you ascend into the Langtang region. Syabrubesi, a small village near the Tibet border, serves as the final stop in Nepal. This morning, ride a short distance to the Rasuwagadhi border, where you'll complete immigration and customs formalities on both the Nepal and Tibet sides. After crossing the Friendship Bridge, you’ll officially enter Tibet, China. Ride gently uphill through dramatic cliffside roads to reach Kerung (Gyirong), a small frontier town with growing infrastructure and spectacular mountain scenery. Begin a long and scenic ride through vast high-altitude plateaus, traditional yak-herding settlements, and wild Himalayan landscapes. En route, cross Kungthang La Pass (5,236 m / 17,178 ft), one of the highest and most dramatic passes of the journey.
