This challenging expedition in the autumn of 2023 taught me valuable lessons on adapting to harsh climates and essential mountaineering skills.Having reached the summits of Mera and Island Peak, I now set my sights on Mount Everest. With careful planning and the right support, I’ve chosen to partner with Sole Encounters once again to guide me through this incredible journey. Mera Peak offers breathtaking views of Everest, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga but requires basic mountaineering skills like using crampons and ice axes. It’s best to have prior high-altitude trekking experience and hire an experienced guide. The trek includes rhododendron forests and passes like Amphu Lapcha. Tea house standards vary, and temperatures can be extremely cold, so proper gear is essential. The road to Ramechap is tough, but flights to Lukla are possible. Overall, Mera Peak is a challenging yet rewarding adventure for those ready for the climb.

As a first time trekker, I traveled solo to Nepal feeling both excited and a little nervous. Those worries quickly disappeared thanks to the incredible support from Sole Encounters Adventures. My trekking guide, Chhiri Sherpa, and climbing guide, Ang Dawa, were highly experienced, patient, and constantly attentive to my safety and confidence throughout the journey.

Labuche Peak Brought me True dream

Mind blowing scenery with hospitality to match
The trek was challenging, but the stunning views made it worth it. Altitude wasn’t a big issue, though Diamox is recommended. Acclimatization days were enjoyable with beautiful views and hot chocolate at 4500m. Our guide's medical advice was invaluable. As you go higher, accommodations and food get simpler, but the views are unbeatable. I look forward to returning to Nepal for another amazing trek!
